Project Manager - ISP & Network Infrastructure

About the role

Liquid Telecom Nigeria, part of Cassava Technologies, is looking for a Project Manager within its Engineering team. The role owns the end-to-end planning, execution and delivery of ISP and carrier network infrastructure projects covering fibre, wireless, IP and optical transport (DWDM/ROADM/OTN). It combines technical depth with commercial and stakeholder management, including feasibility assessments, presales support and bids.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, budget and execute network infrastructure projects across fibre, wireless and IP networks.
• Own network inventory management and planning, including auditing and records management.
• Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders such as vendors, contractors and regulators, and ensure compliance with NCC guidelines.
• Monitor progress, prepare status reports, escalate risks and oversee acceptance testing, commissioning and handover.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, cost-benefit analyses and develop project proposals and timelines.
• Support sales and bids: provide technical input, develop proposals and cost estimates, and take part in client meetings and solution design.
• Act as main point of contact for clients and vendors, manage change requests and track KPIs such as delivery timelines, costs and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field (Master's an advantage).
• Minimum 5 years of technical experience in telecom, including at least 5 years in network engineering, network design or an equivalent role.
• PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification; optical networking, ITIL, CCNP, Agile or health and safety certifications are advantageous.

Required skills

• Optical networking: OTDR, optical link budgets, fibre types and testing.
• Planning and overseeing fibre, ROADM/DWDM, OTN, SDH and DCN implementations.
• Working knowledge of transmission equipment from Nokia, Tejas Networks, Huawei, Ciena, Infinera, ADVA and similar vendors.
• Network management platforms and OSS systems, and understanding of ITU-T standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
