Project Manager - Construction (Expatriate)

About the role

Adexen has been mandated by a leading construction company to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a major high-rise building project in Lagos, Nigeria. The successful candidate will oversee the full project lifecycle from mobilization through completion and handover, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle and coordinate all site activities efficiently
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and resource plans
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, supervisors and subcontractors
• Monitor progress, implement corrective actions and manage risks and delays
• Ensure compliance with contracts, technical specifications, quality, health, safety and environmental requirements
• Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders
• Coordinate procurement and logistics, and monitor costs and value engineering opportunities
• Prepare regular project reports and support claims management and contractual correspondence
• Lead close-out, testing, commissioning and final handover

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years' experience in construction, including at least 5 years managing high-rise projects
• Proven record delivering residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use towers; experience on projects above USD 20 million preferred
• Previous experience in Africa, the Middle East or other international construction environments is an advantage
• Fluent English required

Required skills

• Reinforced concrete structures, finishing works and MEP coordination
• Project planning and scheduling tools
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and project control methodologies is desirable
• Professional engineering membership is an advantage
