Construction Manager (Expatriate) – High-Rise Building

About the role

Adexen has been mandated by a leading construction company to recruit an experienced Construction Manager for a major high-rise building project in Lagos, Nigeria. The role reports to the Project Manager and calls for strong leadership and extensive experience managing complex building projects with multiple subcontractors and disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage site teams, subcontractors and construction supervisors
• Ensure compliance with approved schedules, milestones, specifications and drawings
• Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, finishing and MEP activities
• Monitor quality standards and enforce health, safety and environmental requirements
• Plan materials, equipment and labour, run progress meetings and support project reporting
• Identify risks and delays and implement mitigation measures
• Take part in testing, commissioning and handover

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Minimum 12 years' experience in construction, including at least 7 years supervising large-scale building projects
• Proven record of high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use developments
• Experience managing multicultural workforces and multiple subcontractors; previous experience in Africa, the Middle East or international settings is highly desirable
• Fluent English required
