Project Management Specialist - International

About the role

The Islamic Development Bank seeks a Project Management Specialist to lead due diligence, appraisal, implementation, monitoring and completion of development operations across Nigeria, Gabon and Sierra Leone. The role supports the Bank's development mandate through effective project oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical, financial, procurement, institutional, economic, social and environmental due diligence and prepare appraisal inputs for approval.
• Monitor assigned operations against scope, schedule, cost and results, preparing periodic implementation assessments and coordinating with sector, procurement and financial teams.
• Review contract and financial management information, recommend corrective actions and escalate material risks.
• Prepare inputs for project completion reports, capture lessons learned and coordinate follow‑up actions.
• Maintain relationships with internal teams, executing agencies, member‑country counterparts and development partners, providing evidence‑based advice on risks and issues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Engineering, Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in project management, development operations, project appraisal, implementation monitoring or portfolio management.
• Recognized project management certification.
• Experience in a multilateral development bank, development finance institution or comparable international development organization.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).
