Project Architect (Consultant) – Public Health Infrastructure

About the role

eHealth Africa is seeking a Project Architect (Consultant) to support its Laboratory System and Diagnostics portfolio. The role focuses on designing and delivering public health laboratories, medical supply hubs, and related facilities in Abuja, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs, drawings, schedules, and specifications for public health laboratories, surveillance facilities, and medical supply hubs.
• Produce 3D illustrations and visualizations to aid design reviews and stakeholder engagement.
• Translate laboratory and diagnostic workflows into functional layouts ensuring one‑way flow of samples, personnel, and waste.
• Integrate biosafety zoning and infection prevention and control (IPC) principles into all designs.
• Align designs with approved scope, constructability, and cost considerations to support accurate budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with national building regulations, standards, and donor requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, laboratory stakeholders, and contractors from concept through construction and handover.

Required profile

• Architectural professional capable of providing design, planning, and implementation support for public health infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with laboratory and diagnostic workflows and biosafety requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage design deliverables through all project phases.
