Program Manager

About the role

Jhpiego, an international non‑profit public health organization, is seeking a Program Manager to provide programmatic leadership, operational management, and performance oversight for its health programs in Nigeria. The role works closely with senior managers, government partners, donors, and implementing partners to ensure effective project delivery and achievement of program goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate annual work plans, budgets, and implementation schedules across national and sub‑national levels.
• Lead day‑to‑day implementation of assigned projects, ensuring deliverables, budgets, and reporting obligations are met.
• Monitor progress against targets, address implementation challenges, and use data for decision‑making.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, donors, and partners; represent Jhpiego in technical working groups and stakeholder forums.
• Track project performance indicators, prepare donor reports, presentations, and program updates.
• Monitor project expenditures, ensure compliance with financial policies, and manage sub‑awards and partner performance.
• Ensure technical quality standards, supervise and mentor project staff, and support training and knowledge‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing health or development programs, including planning, implementation, and monitoring.
• Strong ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams (technical, finance, operations, M&E).
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement skills with government agencies, donors, and implementing partners.
• Demonstrated capacity for financial oversight and grant management.
