Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will source engineering materials, equipment, and services for oil and gas projects in Nigeria. You will work closely with engineering, operations, logistics, and project teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Source engineering materials, equipment, and services from local and international suppliers.
• Identify and evaluate vendors based on quality, price, delivery, and compliance.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage procurement activities.
• Coordinate procurement processes for oil and gas projects and monitor supplier performance.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
• Utilize electronic procurement platforms such as ARIBA and SMART GEP.
• Monitor market trends and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in procurement within the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of local and international sourcing practices.
• Experience procuring engineering materials and equipment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
