Policy and Government Engagement Support

About the role

The Policy and Government Engagement Support role contributes to Evidence Action Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen relationships with government stakeholders and advance evidence‑based policy change. The temporary position will conduct research, coordinate engagements, and develop communication materials to help scale cost‑effective interventions in Nigeria’s public health and development systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desktop research on policies, programs and legislative developments affecting Evidence Action’s work.
• Prepare policy briefs, background notes and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Secure and coordinate meetings with government officials, ministries and agencies, and host those engagements.
• Maintain a database of policy resources, stakeholder contacts and track changes in government leadership.
• Document all policy engagement activities, meetings and communications in the organization’s tracking system.
• Support the creation of presentation templates and ensure all materials align with organizational branding.

Required profile

• Approximately two years of experience persuading people face‑to‑face, with demonstrable results (e.g., sales, business development, client servicing, or similar).
• Proven ability to open doors, maintain client relationships, and drive decisions through slow‑moving organisations.
• Strong initiative to identify policy trends and opportunities without constant supervision.
