About the role
The Policy, Advocacy and Campaign (PAC) Officer will drive Save the Children’s advocacy, policy review and stakeholder engagement in Borno State. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Humanitarian Program Operations, the officer will work closely with government bodies, traditional leaders, civil society and children’s groups to promote child rights and improve access to essential services.
Key responsibilities
- Lead engagement with state ministries, agencies, traditional institutions and community leaders on child rights and humanitarian issues.
- Maintain regular communication and positive relationships with state government and other actors across Borno.
- Design and implement advocacy initiatives to improve health, nutrition, food security, education, and child protection services.
- Participate in policy dialogues, campaigns, coordination forums and advocacy meetings at state and community levels.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of child protection laws, policies and commitments.
- Organise stakeholder meetings, advocacy visits, consultative sessions and community dialogues.
- Strengthen collaboration with Children Parliament, child clubs, youth groups and other community structures to ensure meaningful child participation.
- Assist media and communication activities, including audio‑visual documentation for programmes and advocacy.
Required profile
- Indigene of Borno State with fluency in English, Kanuri and Hausa.
- Proven experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement and community mobilisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage children, youth and community members effectively.
- Ability to work independently and build relationships with a wide range of partners.
