Social Media Manager

About the role

The Social Media Manager will lead Synced Cancer Initiative’s social media presence, informing and engaging audiences about cancer-related topics. This full‑time, on‑site position in Ibadan focuses on planning, executing, and optimizing campaigns to raise awareness and support community health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow presence across social media platforms.
• Plan, execute, and analyze social media campaigns.
• Create, schedule, and optimize content for reach and engagement.
• Monitor analytics, respond to comments and messages.
• Collaborate with internal teams and subject‑matter experts to ensure accurate, empathetic messaging.
• Develop content calendars, track trends, and support awareness events and partnerships.

Required profile

• Strong Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) skills.
• Excellent communication and writing abilities for clear, accessible cancer content.
• Experience in content strategy and managing editorial calendars.
• Familiarity with social media analytics tools and basic graphic/video editing.
• Ability to work on‑site in Ibadan, collaborate with diverse teams, and handle health‑sensitive topics.
• Prior experience managing social media for nonprofit, health‑focused, or public awareness campaigns; knowledge of cancer or public health communication is a plus.
