Plumbing/Sewage Engineer

About the role

Kenex Konsults International is seeking a Plumbing/Sewage Engineer to design and oversee plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewage and stormwater systems for building projects in Port Harcourt and the wider Rivers State area. The role involves delivering compliant, efficient and sustainable solutions while supporting construction and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater and sanitary systems, including hot/cold water distribution and booster pump layouts.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports using CAD tools.
• Support fire protection system design and ensure all designs meet local codes and international standards.
• Review contractor drawings, supervise installation, testing and commissioning, and conduct regular site inspections.
• Resolve technical issues on‑site, coordinate with architects, civil, electrical and HVAC engineers, and develop preventive maintenance plans.
• Assist in project planning, budgeting, procurement and cost monitoring for plumbing materials and equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in plumbing, MEP or building services engineering.
• Strong knowledge of local building regulations and international engineering standards.
• Ability to produce accurate calculations, layouts and documentation.
