PLC / Automation Technician (CNG Fuelling Station)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled PLC / Automation Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of automation and control systems at our CNG fuelling station. The role ensures reliable performance of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation and communication networks while upholding safety and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve faults in PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and related automation hardware.
• Maintain, modify and optimise PLC programs to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and device interfaces.
• Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot field instruments, transmitters, sensors and control loops.
• Perform regular backups, restorations and documentation of control system programs.
• Support commissioning, start‑up, testing and shutdown activities for equipment.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on VFDs, relays, motor control centres and electrical panels.
• Identify system vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in industrial automation, instrumentation and electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI/SCADA operation and industrial networking.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex control‑system issues safely.
• Experience working in oil & gas or energy environments is preferred.

• PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley or equivalent)

• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

• Backup and restoration of control system software

What we offer

• Competitive net monthly salary ranging from ₦750,000 to ₦950,000 (depending on experience and competence).
