Payroll Supervisor

About the role

CIG Motors is hiring a Payroll Supervisor in Victoria Island, Lagos. The supervisor oversees accurate and timely payroll processing, ensures compliance with Nigerian tax, pension, labour and statutory requirements, maintains payroll records, resolves payroll queries and works closely with HR and Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, verify and process employee payroll data, including salaries, bonuses, deductions and overtime, and compute statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, NHF, NSITF) correctly.
• Process payroll in line with Nigerian labour and tax regulations and coordinate with Finance for timely salary disbursement and bank transfers.
• Ensure PAYE, pension and other statutory deductions meet FIRS requirements, prepare and submit them to the relevant authorities, assist with payroll audits and stay updated on Nigerian tax and labour laws.
• Maintain confidential payroll records, handle employee queries about salaries and payslips, support HR with benefits and allowances such as leave, bonuses and medical allowances, and update records on employee changes.
• Use payroll software or HRIS to run transactions efficiently, improve processes and collaborate with Finance on payroll projects and system upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4-6 years of relevant payroll experience, preferably in a structured organisation.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian payroll, PAYE, pension and other statutory deductions, and of Nigerian tax and labour regulations.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and good communication and problem-solving skills.
