Finance Controller

About the role

LAGRIDE Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of CIG Motors and an e-hailing company focused on sustainable urban mobility in Lagos, is hiring a Finance Controller. The role oversees accounting, financial reporting, compliance and internal control, ensuring accurate records, timely reporting and effective financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and inventory accounting, including timely reconciliation of supporting schedules.
• Supervise the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports, and ensure they are submitted on time.
• Monitor financial performance, cash flow, working capital and key financial indicators.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, statutory and internal control requirements.
• Identify financial risks, control gaps and discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate monthly inventory counts and reconcile physical and accounting records.
• Review and approve payment vouchers, sales invoices, journals and other financial documents in line with policy.
• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of required schedules and documentation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and variance reporting.
• Supervise and guide the finance and accounting team, and liaise with auditors, banks, tax authorities, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is an advantage.
• ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is an advantage.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing or finance, including a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, automotive, retail or other inventory-driven industries is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, financial analysis and internal controls.
• Knowledge of accounting and ERP systems.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
