Oiler – Engine Room Maintenance Specialist

About the role

Arion Energy Services Limited is looking for a competent and safety‑conscious Oiler to support engine‑room operations across its nationwide fleet. The role involves assisting with maintenance, repairs, and daily watch duties while ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain assigned engine‑room watches and monitor equipment performance.
• Assist with engine‑room cleaning, routine maintenance, and repairs.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance following approved procedures.
• Support machinery operation and ensure all equipment remains in good working order.
• Follow Permit to Work (PTW) procedures for applicable tasks.
• Apply lock‑out/tag‑out and isolation procedures safely.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and environmental hazards.
• Participate in pollution‑prevention activities and respond to spills or leaks.
• Take part in emergency response drills and perform assigned emergency duties.

Required profile

• Experience as an Oiler, Motorman, Engine Rating or similar marine engineering role.
• Valid STCW Engine Room Watch Rating Certificate (Regulation III/4) or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of marine engine‑room operations, maintenance practices and safety regulations.
• Understanding of PTW, risk assessment and machinery isolation procedures.
• Ability to work under supervision in a multicultural environment.
