OGTL Rig Superintendent/Owner Representative

About the role

The OGTL Rig Superintendent/Owner Representative acts as the senior on‑site liaison for the owner, overseeing all rig operations to ensure safety, efficiency and alignment with drilling programmes. This role requires strong leadership on a high‑stakes offshore environment, coordinating resources and reporting progress to shore‑based management.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all on‑site rig activities, ensuring compliance with HSE standards.
• Manage rig crews and contractors, providing clear leadership and performance guidance.
• Allocate resources to minimise downtime and optimise rig performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the rig and the owner’s shore team, delivering regular technical updates.
• Monitor rig technical performance and lead troubleshooting for complex equipment issues.

Required profile

• Extensive marine engineering or rig management experience, typically as a Chief Engineer or Technical Superintendent.
• Deep knowledge of offshore support vessels, drilling equipment and rig maintenance systems.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑national, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Track record in project management, budget control and regulatory compliance (Flag, Class, Port State).
