Nutrition Officer

About the role

This Nutrition Officer role oversees the day-to-day execution and management of nutrition programmes, with a focus on Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTP) and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF). It is a central position in assessing dietary needs, screening populations through anthropometric measurements and designing intervention plans, working closely with healthcare providers, government agencies, local communities and international partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily operations of nutrition interventions, including CMAM, OTP and IYCF initiatives.
• Assess community dietary needs, run nutrition surveys and screenings using anthropometric data, and develop targeted action plans.
• Lead and supervise local teams, community nutrition workers and volunteers, providing training, coaching and mentoring in line with national and global standards.
• Monitor inventory of essential nutritional supplies, oversee project equipment and manage the collection and analysis of programme data for accurate reporting.
• Facilitate collaboration and communication with healthcare professionals, government bodies, community leaders and international stakeholders.
