Nurse Educator – Teaching & Clinical Supervision

About the role

Merit College of Nursing Sciences is seeking qualified Nurse Educators to deliver scheduled lectures, tutorials and clinical supervision for its nursing programmes. The role includes preparing lesson plans, teaching materials and assessments, as well as mentoring students in skills‑laboratory and clinical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and supervise clinical practice for assigned nursing courses.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources and assessments for each topic.
• Mentor and supervise students in skills‑lab and clinical settings.
• Set, administer and grade assessments, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and student performance.
• Collaborate with full‑time faculty to ensure coordinated curriculum delivery.
• Support curriculum quality‑assurance activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM) with a current, valid NMCN licence.
• Minimum qualification of BNSc/B.Sc (Nursing); higher qualifications are an advantage.
• Demonstrable experience in teaching, mentoring or clinical supervision.
• Strong, up‑to‑date clinical knowledge in the subjects to be taught.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.
• Flexibility to teach within agreed sessional timetables.
