Non-Executive Director

About the role

The client seeks an accomplished Non-Executive Director to join its Board of Directors in Lagos. This strategic, board‑level position requires a highly respected executive with deep experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, fundraising and capital markets. The role focuses on independent oversight, strategic guidance and governance while leveraging an extensive professional network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and strategic direction to the Board, participating in corporate strategy development, review and approval.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on institutional fundraising, equity and debt capital raising, and identify strategic funding partners.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring and evaluate new investment opportunities.
• Guide management on corporate finance strategies, capital allocation and long‑term business planning.
• Monitor financial, operational and governance risks, maintaining effective risk‑management frameworks.
• Build and maintain relationships with investors, regulators, financial institutions and strategic partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or related field.
• MBA or other postgraduate qualification highly desirable.
• Professional memberships such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, CIS, CIBN are an advantage.
• Minimum of 20 years of senior executive experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, fundraising or capital markets.
