Network Engineer

About the role

Seismic Consulting Group is seeking a hands‑on Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate a resilient WireGuard mesh network that connects field edge devices to a central platform. You will ensure stable, encrypted connectivity across diverse environments, handling cellular backhaul, multi‑network failover, and security controls.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a WireGuard‑based mesh network for real‑time data transmission.
• Configure and manage SIM‑based cellular connectivity, APNs, and failover mechanisms.
• Implement VPN solutions (WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPSec) and enforce network security policies.
• Monitor network performance, set up alerts, and diagnose issues remotely.
• Collaborate with operators to provision VLANs and dedicated network segments.

Required profile

• Strong practical experience with WireGuard mesh networking and tools such as NetBird or Tailscale.
• Proficiency in Linux networking, including iptables, ip route, netplan, and network namespaces.
• Hands‑on knowledge of cellular SIM management, APN configuration, and multi‑network failover.
• Experience deploying VPNs and implementing end‑to‑end encryption.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed devices without physical access.
