National Customer Manager – Mandarin

About the role

The National Customer Manager – Mandarin will drive business growth by identifying, acquiring and developing Chinese‑owned customers in Nigeria. The role focuses on creating and executing strategies that shift trade between China and Nigeria, maximizing profit and market share for DHL Express.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customers' shipping needs and provide tailored air‑express solutions.
• Conduct market studies to assess potential and define feasible approaches.
• Lead new‑business development initiatives and increase DHL’s visibility among target prospects.
• Develop and execute business‑development plans aligned with financial and shipment targets.
• Collaborate with customers on regional and global priorities such as SME360, NMTE, No Stone Unturned, PUYP and Vault.
• Serve as the primary DHL Express contact, coordinating with internal departments.
• Support contract negotiations and pricing strategies from a buyer’s perspective.
• Assist local teams in lead generation, proposal preparation, negotiation and conversion.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development and customer acquisition within logistics or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of air‑express services and international shipping requirements.
• Ability to design and implement market‑entry and growth strategies.
• Excellent negotiation and contract‑management skills.
• Leadership capability to direct cross‑functional business‑development activities.
