Mid-Level Accountant – Healthcare Finance

About the role

We are looking for a highly competent Mid-Level Accountant to join our finance team in Lagos. The role focuses on managing the financial health of our healthcare operations, ensuring compliance with Nigerian accounting standards and industry‑specific regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee revenue cycle management: reconcile patient billing, insurance claims, and monitor outpatient, inpatient and pharmacy revenue streams.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports with variance analysis.
• Assist in annual budgeting, periodic forecasting and monitor departmental expenditures, especially medical consumables and drug costs.
• Ensure full tax compliance (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT) and file statutory returns (ITF, NSITF, Pension) on time.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and supervise medical/pharmacy inventory valuation using FIFO or weighted‑average methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) qualification with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• 3–5 years relevant accounting experience, minimum 2 years post‑NYSC.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations.
