Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

The Edward and Clara Memorial Clinic is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its diagnostic team in Lagos. You will play a critical role in delivering accurate test results that support patient care and clinical decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialised diagnostic tests in haematology, microbiology, chemistry, and serology.
• Collect, process, and analyse patient samples with precision and efficiency.
• Validate, record and communicate test results to physicians in a timely manner.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Implement and monitor quality‑control programmes and ensure compliance with safety and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications and certifications in medical laboratory science.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment handling and infection‑control practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry and serology testing.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records applications.
• Technical competence in operating and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
