Mechanical Technical Instructor

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Mechanical Technical Instructor to deliver technical education and vocational training to its students and trainees at the Obajana plant. The role is in-person and hands-on, and aims to equip learners with mechanical technology skills in line with the approved national occupational standard set by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Key responsibilities

• Help develop and deliver the curriculum for mechanical technology courses, aligned with approved curriculum and standards.
• Give hands-on instruction in labs and classrooms, creating a practical learning environment.
• Support students in understanding complex concepts, troubleshooting techniques and safety protocols.
• Evaluate student progress through assessments and give constructive feedback.
• Work with other faculty on research and a cohesive educational experience across training programs.
• Take part in departmental meetings and program development initiatives.
• Manage training tools and laboratory equipment, and update the Dangote Academy workshop inventory list for tools and consumables.
• Carry out other related tasks assigned by the Centre manager or superiors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution.
• At least five years of field experience in mechanical systems handling, plus any additional experience in mentoring, teaching or tutoring.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
