High School Principal

About the role

Goldstar Premier Academy, a nursery through secondary institution in Port Harcourt, is looking for a full-time, on-site High School Principal. The Principal oversees the daily operations of the secondary school, including instructional programs, staff supervision, student discipline and academic performance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the curriculum and ensure effective teaching and learning across all subjects
• Support teachers through coaching and evaluations
• Collaborate with school leadership on strategic planning and manage timetables and assessments
• Maintain compliance with educational standards and policies
• Engage families and the wider school community, lead school events and promote a safe, inclusive environment
• Guide initiatives that strengthen student character, leadership and achievement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; a master's in Educational Leadership, Administration or a similar discipline is an advantage
• Previous experience as a Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Department or equivalent senior school leadership role
• Strong foundation in secondary school teaching and learning practices
• Experience in educational administration and management, including staff supervision, school operations and policy implementation
• Expertise in curriculum development, able to align programs to standards and support innovative teaching methods

• Educational leadership: inspiring staff, guiding students and upholding the school's mission and values
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Strong organisational and decision-making abilities, managing multiple priorities
• Familiarity with relevant educational regulations and standards in Nigeria
