Mechanical Manager - Packing Plant

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Mechanical Manager for its Ibese Packing Plant. The role plans and coordinates all packing plant maintenance activities so that operations are not disrupted, and reports to the Head, Packing Plant.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in developing and defining the plant's maintenance plan and oversee its effective and efficient execution.
• Plan and order machine spares for the packing plant in a timely way, based on unit requirements.
• Supervise engineers so that equipment stays available for operations with minimum downtime and meets pre-set targets.
• Liaise with HSE personnel on personal protection equipment and safety training.
• Make sure routine and corrective maintenance is done on time and efficiently.
• Manage a database of all maintenance activities.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or its equivalent; professional certification is an added advantage.
• At least 15 years of relevant work experience.
• Good leadership and supervisory skills, and good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.

• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment accurately and quickly.
• Maintenance planning and coordination.
