Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will coordinate and execute all mechanical maintenance activities across the plant, ensuring reliability, safety and efficiency of equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance work on mechanical equipment and provide feedback to the Sectional Engineer.
• Develop, document and enforce working methods and procedures for the assigned field.
• Plan work and resources, carry out tasks from the CMMS or Mechanical Maintenance Manager, and close them out in SAP.
• Supervise the maintenance team, conduct performance reviews, ensure quality of work and motivate personnel.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations in all work areas.
• Review weekly, monthly and shutdown maintenance plans with planners according to production needs.
• Prepare and monitor spare‑parts lists and ensure availability of required tools.
• Participate in critical failure root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Attend departmental meetings, apply management policies and report results to the Mechanical Manager.
• Maintain documentation of permits, assessments and audit files.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in a process industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of machine mechanics and hydraulic system troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Knowledge of safety standards, plant equipment, critical path analysis, failure root‑cause analysis, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic conventions.
