MEAL Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

Street Child is seeking a passionate MEAL Officer to strengthen the monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning functions of its child‑focused programmes. The role will ensure data‑driven decision‑making, track impact, and promote continuous improvement across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive MEAL frameworks, tools and indicators for ongoing projects.
• Collect, compile and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, producing accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to verify compliance with organisational standards and donor requirements.
• Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to share findings, best practices and recommendations.
• Maintain accountability mechanisms, gather beneficiary feedback and address concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with program managers to set realistic targets and performance metrics aligned with organisational objectives.
• Support proposal development and reporting with data‑driven insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience in MEAL roles within nonprofit organisations, preferably in child‑focused programmes.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, logical frameworks and theory of change.
• Excellent data management, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel for data handling and analysis.
• Experience using SPSS or similar statistical software.
