Manual QA Tester for Web Applications

About the role

Icons Of Real Estate creates podcasts and content for US real‑estate professionals. The team uses an internal web app called the Hub, and needs a Manual QA Tester to ensure new features work correctly before release.

Key responsibilities

• Test new features and bug fixes on the staging environment using written test guides and exploratory testing.
• Write clear, single‑issue bug reports with steps, expected vs actual results, screenshots or short recordings, and browser/account details.
• Retest fixes, confirm resolutions, or reopen issues with remaining problems.
• Run regression checklists on core flows (login, guest booking, episode workflow, article review, emails) before each release.
• Maintain and update test guides as features evolve and suggest missing test cases.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of manual testing experience on web applications, or a strong self‑taught portfolio.
• Excellent written English for detailed test steps and bug reports.
• Systematic, able to follow multi‑step guides precisely and notice deviations.
• Curious and skeptical mindset – tries wrong inputs, double‑clicks, back button, multiple tabs.
• Reliable internet, Chrome‑compatible computer, and 3‑4 hours overlap with US Eastern mornings.

Required skills

• Browser developer tools (Network tab, console errors).
• Familiarity with bug trackers such as Jira, GitHub Issues, Linear or Trello.
• Basic SQL and ability to read JSON API responses.
• Exposure to automated browser testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Laravel Dusk).
• Power‑user experience with WordPress, Google Docs and Google Calendar.

• USD 500–1,000 per month, paid monthly, based on experience and hours.
