About the role

Dangote Cement Plc. is looking for an accomplished Mechanical Engineer with a strong track record in the cement industry to lead the maintenance and operational reliability of its mechanical systems at the Ibese plant. You will oversee the performance, maintenance and continuous improvement of key assets such as crushers, mills, conveyors and kilns, optimising equipment reliability and minimising downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical maintenance team so that plant equipment performs reliably.
• Oversee maintenance, inspection and repair of crushers, kilns, mills and conveyors.
• Develop, implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Analyse equipment performance data, find root causes of failures and put corrective actions in place.
• Coordinate mechanical maintenance during plant shutdowns and major overhauls.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental regulations are followed in all maintenance work.
• Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance budgets and resource allocation.
• Drive continuous improvement and mentor engineers and technicians.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 18 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance and operations in the cement or heavy process industry.
• Proven managerial or leadership experience with strong team coordination and decision-making.
• Deep technical understanding of mechanical systems in cement production.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex maintenance challenges.
• Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, reliability engineering and maintenance best practices.
