Loan Officer

About the role

Beamer Bank is seeking a proactive Loan Officer to join its Lagos branch. You will be responsible for acquiring new loan customers, assessing creditworthiness, and managing loan portfolios while ensuring compliance with bank policies.

Key responsibilities

• Source and acquire new customers for loan and financial services.
• Explain loan products, eligibility, terms and repayment conditions.
• Receive, review and process loan applications and supporting documents.
• Conduct customer, business, residence and employment verification, including field visits when required.
• Prepare accurate loan assessment and recommendation reports.
• Monitor assigned loan portfolios, follow up on repayments and identify at‑risk accounts.
• Collaborate with Collections/Recovery and Operations teams to minimise delinquency.
• Achieve monthly acquisition, disbursement and portfolio quality targets while maintaining compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum OND, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking & Finance or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in lending, credit, micro‑finance, fintech, banking or sales is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of loan assessment and customer verification processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a target‑driven environment with high attention to detail.
• Willingness to conduct field visits and engage with customers directly.
