About the role
Standard Life Organization is hiring a Legal Officer in Marina, Edo, Nigeria. The role centres on managing loan recovery activities and handling the legal side of business transactions, with a focus on protecting the organisation's interests.
Key responsibilities
- Manage loan recovery activities and delinquent accounts, including negotiating settlements
- Draft and review contracts, policies, agreements and other legal documents
- Provide legal guidance on business transactions
- Ensure the organisation's interests are protected in its operations and dealings with third parties
- Identify contractual and operational risks
- Ensure policies, agreements and business practices comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements
Required profile
- BSc degree as minimum qualification
- At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
- Background in legal practice, contract management, debt recovery, negotiation and regulatory compliance, preferably in microfinance or financial services
- Ability to develop effective recovery strategies
