Legal & Compliance Manager (Web3/Fintech)

About the role

Apex Network is seeking a senior Legal & Compliance Manager to lead regulatory strategy for its Web3 and fintech products across multiple continents. The role combines deep legal expertise with a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset to navigate complex, evolving regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Research and interpret fintech and Web3 regulations in Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Poland, the Americas and the EU.
• Lead licensing applications for financial licences such as IMTO, PSP, VASP, EMI, etc., in target jurisdictions.
• Design, implement and manage AML/KYC/CFT policies and internal audit procedures.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, partnership contracts and vendor terms.
• Act as primary liaison with regulators, financial intelligence units and external counsel.
• Identify legal risks in product roadmaps and provide actionable mitigation strategies to the executive team.

Required profile

• LLB with relevant professional certification (CAMS or equivalent preferred).
• 10 years of legal/compliance experience, including 3‑5 years in fintech, crypto or Web3.
• Proven experience managing compliance in at least two core regions (Africa, EU, Americas).
• Extreme ownership and high‑performance mindset.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non‑legal stakeholders.
