Legal & Compliance Associate

About the role

An early-career legal professional is sought to support sound business decisions and transactions while managing risk. The role sits within a dynamic environment covering private equity, fund operations and impact investing, and calls for strong organisational skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive legal research, draft high-quality documents and review documents in detail to support corporate and commercial matters.
• Manage several workstreams, deadlines and stakeholder relationships at once, keeping accurate trackers and visibility on outstanding actions.
• Spot missing documentation, inconsistencies and potential compliance gaps so that regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards are met.
• Use professional judgment to tell which matters can be handled independently and which need escalation to senior legal leadership or management.
• Work with Investment, Operations and Finance teams, portfolio companies, external counsel and regulators through clear, professional communication.
• Follow up on assigned matters proactively to drive them to completion and resolve them on time.
• Adapt quickly to new areas of law and business, especially private equity and fund management.
