Legal Associate - Crypto Exchange

About the role

Busha, a digital currency exchange founded in 2018 offering trading in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, is looking for a proactive Legal Associate to join its Legal and Compliance team. The role acts as a commercial enabler, helping the business navigate complex regulatory landscapes while driving growth, bridging technology (crypto, stablecoins, payments) and corporate governance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, and build and maintain internal tools such as clause libraries, playbooks and legal guidance materials.
• Conduct legal research on virtual assets, blockchain, payments and global financial services, turn complex laws into actionable compliance notes and handle escalations from cross-functional teams.
• Support entity registration, regulatory approvals, permit management and corporate secretarial functions across operating jurisdictions.
• Support regulatory inquiries, investigations, disputes and litigation, acting as a liaison with external counsel, regulators, auditors and service providers.

Required profile

• 2-5 years of post-qualification legal experience in fintech, a fast-growing tech startup or a top-tier commercial law firm's technology/finance practice.
• A strong commercial enabler mindset, able to solve problems so the business can innovate safely.
• Nice to have: high attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions, excellent communication skills, integrity and confidentiality.
