Lead Engineer (Chemical Injection, Lube Oil & Hydrogen System)

About the role

The Lead Engineer will oversee the maintenance, reliability and performance of the Chemical Injection, Lube Oil and Hydrogen systems at Egbin Power Plant. You will ensure these critical assets operate safely and efficiently to support continuous power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of Chemical Injection, Lube Oil and Hydrogen systems to detect defects and trigger corrective actions.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise daily and weekly maintenance activities in line with operational requirements.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM) strategies to improve reliability and minimise downtime.
• Lead shutdown maintenance, ensuring tasks are completed within planned timelines.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on failures and implement sustainable solutions.
• Monitor system parameters, enforce HSE standards and conduct safety inspections.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and coordinate internal and external maintenance resources.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and reporting to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years experience in power generation or a similarly asset‑intensive industry.
• Hands‑on experience with Hydrogen, Lube Oil and Chemical Injection systems.
• Proven track record in maintenance planning, shutdown execution and reliability improvement.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., COREN, NSE) are desirable.
