Lead Civil/Structural Engineer – Oil & Gas EPC

About the role

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas EPC company, is seeking an experienced Lead Civil / Structural Engineer to head the design, engineering and execution of civil and structural works for major infrastructure projects in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, review and approval of civil and structural deliverables, including drawings, calculations, specifications, MTOs and technical reports.
• Coordinate engineering activities across FEED, detailed engineering, construction and commissioning phases.
• Review contractor and vendor designs for compliance with client specifications, industry codes and quality standards.
• Provide technical support to resolve engineering and construction challenges.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments and constructability reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor engineering progress, prepare technical reports and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure all designs meet HSE, regulatory and company standards while promoting best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement within the team.

Required profile

• B.Eng./B.Sc./HND in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years post‑graduation experience, with at least 6 years in engineering/construction/maintenance and 3 years in a senior discipline or project role, preferably in Oil & Gas.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, civil engineering design and construction methods.
• Professional registration (COREN/NSE) or other relevant certification is an advantage.
