Laundry Operative

About the role

Avital Suites and Resort, a boutique hotel in Surulere, is hiring a full-time, on-site Laundry team member for its Aparthotel in Lagos. The role covers the main steps of laundry care and keeps the work area clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, iron and fold mainly beddings, linens, clothing and other fabrics according to care instructions and quality standards.
• Check items for damage or stains and ensure they meet hygiene requirements.
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment.
• Help organise and store laundered items and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Coordinate with housekeeping or hospitality teams to meet daily laundry demands and service timelines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a laundry, hospitality or housekeeping environment is an advantage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle items manually safely.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and good teamwork.

Required skills

• Sorting, washing, drying and ironing fabrics while following care labels and hygiene standards.
• Operating, cleaning and basic checks on laundry machines and equipment.
• Quality control: inspecting items for stains or damage and presenting them neatly folded.
• Time management and organisation to meet daily targets in a fast-paced environment.
