Junior Recruiter (Freelance)

About the role

Choice Talents is looking for a freelance Junior Recruiter based in Lagos. The role works closely with the recruitment team to support the sourcing, screening and administration of candidates for open vacancies.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the recruitment team's instructions on open vacancies and take notes on role requirements to find suitable candidates.
• Help write and develop job descriptions.
• Learn and use job advertising websites to post open vacancies.
• Screen resumes with recruiters and managers and help identify good candidates.
• Complete administrative tasks such as obtaining references, background checks and work-status paperwork from applicants.
• Learn and use CRM/ATS systems, entering and keeping candidate data up to date.
• Sit in on interviews, take notes on interview techniques and carry out initial phone screenings.
• Organize interviews and send requested documents to candidates.
• Attend sales and customer service training and shadow consultants on client meetings.
• Maintain an effective filing system.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business or a related field, or equivalent work experience and education.
• At least 1 year of experience as a recruiter.
• Excellent organization, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Able to listen to instructions, manage your own workload and time, and work well in a team.
• Forward-thinking attitude and ability to meet and exceed targets; good knowledge of HR best practices is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience using a CRM or ATS system is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
