Junior Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning Officer

About the role

The Junior Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning Officer will join SaneKonsult’s MERL team in Nigeria. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, research and learning frameworks for agriculture and rural development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, pilot and maintain data collection tools and integrate them into mobile platforms such as KoboToolBox, CommCare, ActivityInfo or ArcGIS.
• Collect, clean, and analyse project data, develop dashboards and visualisations using Power BI and Power Query.
• Maintain project databases, track indicators and ensure data quality and compliance with NDPR and GDPR.
• Prepare reports, briefs and presentations for internal teams and clients.
• Support fieldwork, conduct after‑action reviews and facilitate knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and senior MERL staff to ensure timely and ethical data use.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Agriculture or a related social science.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on M&E or MERL experience, preferably in agriculture or rural development.
• Knowledge of data‑privacy regulations (NDPR, GDPR) and related certifications.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of MERL principles and indicator tracking.
• Experience designing and coding surveys on KoboToolBox, CommCare, ActivityInfo or ArcGIS.
• Intermediate proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, and dashboard automation.
• Practical skills in SQL, ETL processes, DAX and VBA for Excel automation.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
