Youth Employment and Mobilisation Advisor

About the role

The Youth Employment and Mobilisation Advisor will support the implementation of SNV’s agriculture project in Nigeria, focusing on youth‑ and women‑led green enterprises. The role involves coordinating activities with communities, local authorities, private sector partners and other stakeholders to create sustainable job opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate active participation and trust‑building with communities and stakeholders.
• Identify and promote business opportunities for youth‑led micro‑ and small enterprises and wage employment.
• Organise and profile youth groups for engagement in adapted‑crop value‑chain activities.
• Provide basic life, business and technical skills training in partnership with training providers and employers.
• Support the establishment of youth advisory structures and link enterprises with financial institutions.
• Collect regular project data, ensure timely reporting and contribute to documentation of lessons learned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably MSc) in agribusiness, agriculture, entrepreneurship, community development or related fields.
• Minimum five years of experience in enterprise development, agri‑business development, youth employment or related sectors.
• Strong facilitation, networking and partnership skills, with experience working in NGOs or grassroots communities.
• Excellent written and spoken English and fluency in the local language.
