Junior Finance Officer

About the role

CredPal, a financial technology company offering credit cards and investment solutions, is looking for a detail-oriented, disciplined Junior Finance Officer in Lagos. The role supports the accuracy and integrity of financial operations: recording transactions correctly, completing reconciliations promptly and keeping financial data reliable for reporting and decision-making. It is a full-time, entry-level position.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily financial transactions into the accounting system accurately and on time.
• Carry out daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including tagging and depreciation records.
• Manage petty cash and cash advances, including disbursement, documentation and reconciliation.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
• Keep financial records documented and filed for audit and compliance.
• Assist with budget tracking, expense monitoring, and prepare financial schedules, reconciliations and variance analysis reports.
• Support internal and external audits and ad-hoc analysis requests from senior finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of finance experience in the financial services or FinTech industry.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with integrity and professionalism; willing to start immediately.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, especially QuickBooks.
• Familiarity with core banking systems is an added advantage.
• ICAN (ATS/Foundation/Part-qualified) or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
