Fraud Desk Analyst

About the role

Flutterwave, a payment infrastructure company founded on the principle that every African should be able to participate and thrive in the global economy, is recruiting a Fraud Desk Analyst in Lekki, Lagos. The role helps protect Flutterwave and its customers from fraud, working alongside business partners and internal teams. It is a hands-on, round-the-clock position where you monitor and investigate transactions as they happen and act quickly on suspicious activity.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor transactions and fraud alerts in real time to detect suspicious or unusual activity
• Review and investigate flagged transactions and accounts, and take action such as holding, blocking or releasing them in line with fraud policies and procedures
• Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior team members and relevant internal teams
• Document investigation findings and maintain accurate case records
• Handle fraud-related inquiries from customers, merchants and internal teams
• Identify fraud trends and patterns and share insights to improve detection rules and processes
• Prepare reports on fraud activity and case outcomes for senior team members
• Perform any other duties assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience in fraud monitoring, risk, transaction monitoring or payments operations
• Ability and willingness to work weekends and night shifts, as the role requires round-the-clock coverage
• Intellectual curiosity about payments, technology and how fraud works
• Comfortable with ambiguity and the constant change of a startup experiencing hyper-growth
