Insurance Sales Manager

About the role

The Insurance Sales Manager will lead the acquisition and growth of retail insurance customers in Lagos. You will promote a range of life, health, investment‑linked and savings products while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new retail customers through prospecting, networking, referrals and field sales activities.
• Promote and sell life, health, investment‑linked, savings and other insurance products.
• Conduct financial needs analyses and recommend tailored insurance solutions.
• Build, manage and maintain a strong client portfolio, meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Generate quality leads, convert prospects, and cross‑sell or upsell additional products.
• Guide clients through application, underwriting and policy issuance, ensuring timely renewals.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions and pipeline reports using CRM systems.
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities and regulatory requirements.
• Provide after‑sales service, resolve inquiries and complaints promptly.
• Participate in marketing campaigns, sales meetings and continuous product training.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in insurance sales, financial advisory, wealth management, bancassurance or financial services.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Professional certification such as CIIN or other relevant insurance qualifications is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of insurance products, financial planning and retail sales.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management abilities.
• Highly self‑motivated, target‑driven and customer‑focused.
