Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing plant in Abeokuta. You will work closely with an expatriate engineer to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our high‑tonnage injection moulding equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on Milacron, Haitian, Zhafir, Engel machines (80T–1300T) following checklists and procedures.
• Assist in diagnosing breakdowns and execute corrective actions under supervision, escalating complex faults promptly.
• Maintain hydraulic systems – monitor oil levels, change filters, replace seals, clean valves, and report abnormalities.
• Service auxiliary equipment such as hopper loaders, dryers, chillers, conveyors, and temperature controllers.
• Record all maintenance activities, parts usage, and corrective actions accurately and submit reports within the shift.
• Monitor machines during production, identify early warning signs, and report issues immediately.
• Ensure compliance with SACVIN safety standards and ISO 45001, using appropriate PPE at all times.
• Support spare‑parts identification, stock verification, and requisition preparation.

Required profile

• OND in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on maintenance experience in a plastic injection moulding environment.
• Physical fitness for working at height, lifting tooling and operating on the production floor.
• Good spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Injection moulding machine maintenance (Milacron, Haitian, Zhafir, Engel).
• Hydraulic system maintenance – pumps, valves, seals, oil circuits.
• Electrical system maintenance – heater bands, thermocouples, sensors, solenoid valves.
• Reading basic hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Breakdown diagnosis and corrective action.
• Spare‑parts management and stock control.
