Infrastructure Technician

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on, safety‑conscious Infrastructure Technician to execute field‑based tasks related to the installation, maintenance and upkeep of telecommunications and supporting infrastructure at Ikeja sites. The role involves outdoor work, working at heights and travelling between multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installations and repairs of telecommunications infrastructure, including poles, radios, solar panels, batteries and cabinets.
• Assist with deployment, relocation or decommissioning of equipment and conduct site clearance, preparation, leveling and pole foundation work.
• Clean solar panels, conduct fault‑finding, and ensure minimal downtime and service interruptions.
• Use power tools and related equipment safely, maintain cleanliness of tools, vehicles and work areas, and report incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure team and other departments, record completed tasks and attend weekly check‑ins and toolbox talks.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent (Grade 12) is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years experience in an infrastructure‑related technician role, including tower work and working at heights.
• Valid driver’s licence held for at least 1 year and physically fit to lift and install hardware.
• Willingness to work standby duty on a rotational roster and travel between sites.

Required skills

• Operation of power tools and related equipment.
• Knowledge of infrastructure hardware such as poles, radios, solar panels, batteries and cabinets.
• Fault‑finding and basic repairs on infrastructure equipment.
• Working at heights with appropriate safety training or certification.
