In-House Lawyer

About the role

U Build Limited is looking for a proactive In‑House Lawyer to protect the company’s legal interests across its construction, engineering and infrastructure projects. The role combines contract management, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate joint‑venture agreements, subcontractor contracts, vendor agreements and client NDAs.
• Provide strategic legal advice to project managers and senior executives on operational risks.
• Manage pre‑litigation disputes and claims with clients or subcontractors, and coordinate external counsel for litigation or arbitration.
• Monitor compliance with local building regulations, labour laws and health & safety requirements.
• Maintain corporate records, organise board meetings and handle statutory filings, permits, licences and intellectual‑property matters.
• Handle sensitive corporate data and legal matters with strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and B.L. from a recognised institution.
• Active member of the Nigerian Bar Association in good standing.
• Minimum two years post‑call experience, preferably in real‑estate, construction or engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex legal terms into business advice.
• High professional integrity, objectivity and emotional intelligence.
• Residence in Abuja is preferred.
