Hydraulic Engineer – Urban Infrastructure (Nigeria)

About the role

The Hydraulic Engineer will support planning, design and implementation of water‑related infrastructure for Rendeavour’s large‑scale urban projects in Nigeria. This full‑time, on‑site position involves creating and reviewing hydraulic systems such as water supply networks, storm‑water drainage, wastewater and flood‑management structures.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review hydraulic networks, including water supply, stormwater, wastewater and flood control systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Collaborate with planners, architects, civil engineers, consultants and contractors throughout design and construction phases.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor construction quality and resolve hydraulic issues on‑site.
• Participate in feasibility studies, optimise designs for sustainability and cost‑effectiveness, and support long‑term operation and maintenance planning.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in hydraulic engineering principles and water‑infrastructure design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with urban infrastructure or large‑scale development projects in Nigeria or similar contexts is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret local and international codes and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.

Required skills

• AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Hydraulic modelling tools such as EPANET, WaterCAD or StormCAD.
