HVAC Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated HVAC Design Engineer to join our Lagos office. You will be responsible for creating detailed HVAC layouts for residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations for various building types.
• Coordinate BIM models with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines to resolve clashes.
• Specify and size HVAC equipment such as split systems, VRF units, chillers, and air handlers.
• Ensure designs meet local building codes, energy codes, and ASHRAE standards.
• Update design drawings based on client feedback or site changes.
• Prepare equipment schedules, technical specifications, and construction documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.) or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years proven experience in HVAC system design.
• Strong analytical, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit for HVAC design.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD and AutoCAD MEP.
• Experience with HVAC design software and BIM coordination.
• Ability to perform accurate load calculations and equipment sizing.
