Human Resources Administrator

About the role

A Nigerian company in the explosives and mining chemicals industry, which manufactures, procures and sells mining chemicals, emulsion explosives and explosive accessories, is hiring a Human Resources Administrator. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across the people function, aligning HR capabilities, workforce structures, policies, systems and talent practices with business objectives. It supports the manufacturing, technical, field and corporate workforce and moves HR toward a data-driven, commercially focused business partner.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and operational priorities into effective workforce strategies and strengthen organisational capability and performance.
• Promote a disciplined and accountable culture and manage employee and labour-related matters fairly, proactively and in line with applicable laws, policies and company standards.
• Support the manufacturing, technical, field and corporate workforce.
• Advise senior management and manage complex workforce matters independently.
• Balance employee needs with productivity, cost, operational continuity, safety and business requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, Psychology or a related discipline.
• Professional HR qualification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI or equivalent required or preferred.
• Minimum 8-12 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience in a management or senior HR leadership position.
• Experience managing both corporate and operational/manufacturing workforces strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable experience in employee/industrial relations, workforce planning, performance management, recruitment, compensation and organisational development.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, mining, construction, energy or another operationally intensive environment is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment and labour practices.
